Behind the Seams ✂️🧵

Dearest Gentle Reader (please read that in a posh English accent),

It has come to our attention that something wonderful has arrived to the inboxes of subscribers around the world. Okay, I don't have the poise or grace of Lady Whistledown (hello to my fellow Bridgerton fans), but I do have the latest goss in the quilting community. Alas, not so salacious, but still full of inspiration, and something to get your fingers itching to be stitching. I'm sure Lady Whistledown would have been a quilter if she wasn't so busy in her intrigues. Especially with soft, romantic projects like this to delight (and keep warm while reading, if we're being practical).

Or perhaps bright and bold is more your style (ala Lady Featherington but with much more style), such as these:

These are not even half the projects you'll find within the pages of Issue 62 of Make Modern! So if you haven't nabbed your copy yet, what are you waiting for? ;)

Each issue we chat to incredible makers from around the world. Here's who we interviewed for the current issue!

Dewald Compion from South Africa

@compiodl

Dewald lives in Durbanville (about a 20-minute drive from Cape Town). By day, he works as a medical doctor in a GP practice and after hours he happily shares his life with Dawie, Emma, the cat, and three dogs. Emma actively supports him whilst sewing, while Dawie and the dogs try to watch TV in the background (subtitles required due to the humming of the sewing machine).

Sarah Schneider from United States

@sarahs.softies

Sarah is a quilt pattern designer, instructor, mother of two, and wife of a military service member. A frequent Make Modern contributor, she designs whatever gets stuck in her brain – some makes it onto paper and into fabric!

Plus Diane L Murtha shares her tips of trying something new and challenging yourself, Jane Kelly tells it to you straight as an ADHD quilter, and our columnists, Sarah and HollyAnne provide practical and helpful tips to implement in your quilty life.

So if you're looking for something to read between favourite novels, or simply want something that will motivate you to dig into the stash and use some favourite fabrics, now's the time to nab Issue 62 and get inspired!

And in case you haven't seen it, it's our duty to inform you that we also have a subscription plan - and let's be honest, if Lady Whistledown could have run a subscription, she absolutely would have!

Or you can go all out and treat yourself like royalty (but at a fraction of the price) and get the All-Access pass which provides you with EVERY issue we've ever written!

We love options here at Make Modern so why not check them out and see which suits you best?

Until next time, dear reader, we trust you'll have some quality time in your sewing room, and find joy in your creativity!

Happy making!

Kristy, Lara and Jane

Hello quilty friend!There's a saying that pops up whenever quilting and sewing memes are created - "I cannot count my day complete until needle, thread and fabrics meet". We may not know who originally coined the phrase, but I think we can all relate! While sometimes we don't actually get to the fabric-meet-needle point, I think it still counts when we're thinking about our next project or reading something that inspires us to get creative! As creative people, it's a bit of a necessity. So...
