Hello Reader! Our next issue is under way! It's our second last one - ever. I don't think that fact has quite sunk in for us. Make Modern has been a part of our lives for nearly twelve years now. We started with rather humble beginnings - literally in the car park after quilt group one day! I don't think any of us dreamed we'd still be publishing issues over a decade on. Not to mention that each issue would continue to delight with a huge range of projects, makers, and articles. Before I wax poetic about the nearing end of our magazine, let's chat instead about what's coming in Issue 72 - because there is a whole bunch of goodness to share! We may be nearing the end of our magazine, but the quality and the inspiration has not slowed down! Issue 72 has projects full of colour, geometric designs and a few different techniques to experiment with. We also talk with makers Olivia Schnell-Martinez of Summer Olives and Shankari Paradee. We love having a peek inside other quilter's design process and quilting history. Malgorazata Banjo gives us some practical tips on how to streamline the piecing process while our Editor Jane reflects on 3 decades of quilting and the life lessons that has brought. As always, our brilliant columnists delight, inspire and share their best hints, tips, suggestions and ideas for successful quilting - the lovely HollyAnne Knight (of String and Story), the insightful Sarah Ashford (Sarah Ashford Studios) and the talented Eva Saunders (of Gingerly Quilt Co). Just can't wait for a new issue of Make Modern? Issue 71 still awaits to delight you with quilts galore!
After twelve wonderful years, Make Modern will publish its final issue in 2026. Bittersweet? Absolutely. We have loved every stitch of this journey. But before we fold up our last fat quarter, we want to make sure you have everything you need to keep quilting for years to come. The All-Access Pass gets you all 73 issues β 700+ patterns, expert tips, inspiring interviews, and endless ideas β in one digital package thatβs yours to download and keep forever. No subscription. No ongoing fees. No missing out when we say goodbye in 2027. Every issue, quilty friend! That's a whole lot of projects, columns, and articles to delight and inspire! The BEST patchwork rabbit hole you could ever go down. Trust us!
