Hello quilty friend! While sometimes we don't actually get to the fabric-meet-needle point, I think it still counts when we're thinking about our next project or reading something that inspires us to get creative! As creative people, it's a bit of a necessity. So we're popping into your inbox to chat a lil further about our current issue of Make Modern, in case reading and thinking about projects fills your creative cup today! We looked at some of the Issue 63 projects last newsletter, let's check out the rest! It's always a tough decision to choose our cover quilt, but this issue we loved Summer in the City designed by Siobhan Fitzpatrick (@createdesignmake365). We're really crushing on these geometric shapes and styles. And you can see another quilt in this style with this fun Sweater Knit quilt designed by Carli Marsico (@guilty_quilty) (who is also one of our featured makers in Issue 63!). Or how about these pretties? Left is Tic Tac by Elaine Jackson (@wovenladybug) and we're loving those pretty curves (and that snowy backdrop!). Right is another bright and bold quilt with a fun and easy to piece geometric look designed by Jamie Siel (@sewbrainy). And here's the last two patterns from Issue 63! A striking foundation pieced quilt designed by Sarah Corsan (@handmadeby_unicorns) and then a fun take on a sampler quilt full of details designed by Cinzia White. Did one of these designs catch your eye? Perhaps it's inspired you to head to the sewing space and start pulling fabrics! Buy a copy of Issue 63 so you have the pattern handy, ready to go!
In addition to that, there's a whole bunch of inspirational articles, columns and features for you to get stuck in and read. You may particularly love Eva Saunders article and tutorial on quilt painting! Or read about how to conquer your fear of quilt math with the team from Designed to Quilt with their specially designed app, Quilt Geek. We hope this fills your creative cup and helps you find a way to make your day complete! Happy making! Kristy, Lara and Jane
