Behind the Seams ✂️🧵

Hello Reader!,

Have you had a chance to check out Issue 69 yet? I mean we understand if you've been distracted and glued to the Artemis II NASA livestream (or maybe that's just me?!). But in case you're looking for some inspiration and some fun sewing, let us chat a little about what you can find in the pages of our current issue.

Here's a little reminder of our pretty cover (quilt by Kelli Marshall), and another stunning quilt - Brigid by Erin Holmes. Rooted in Celtic folklore, Brigid is a medallion quilt inspired and named for the goodess of spring and renewal. Designed to celebrate creativity and choice, each block can be rotated, flipped and rearranged to reveal entirely new layouts - one pattern, countless quilt possibilities!

If you're looking for a bit more a rainbow palette, we have these two bright and cheery quilt patterns waiting for you!

Beading (below left) by Claudia Porter puts together the class combo of black, white and rainbow! This fabulous quilt teams bright squares (use your scrap stash or grab a bold charm pack or layer cake) with black and white solids to create an interesting design with a nod to strings of bright glass beads.

Love Grows (below right) by Amanda Jane Ogden is a sweet and scrappy quilt that would make the perfect gift for a new baby. Or you could customise the colours to represent important people in your life and display it as a wall quilt that celebrates family and friends.

Last but not least, we have some geometric quilts with the focus being on all the points and triangles!

Maimara (below left) by Anke B Calzada is proof that sometimes simple shapes are all you need to create an eye catching quilt design. A combination of triangles and parallelograms are sewn into square blocks, then pieced together to create the effect of exploding diamonds. The moody hues make for a quilt that'd fit into many styles of decor.

Into the Night (below right) by Melody Ballenberg is a theory in fabric! Have you ever wondered how sawtooth stars are formed? Melody says that sometimes geese are irresistibly drawn toward the full moon-egg. These flying geese circle higher and higher in the spring night sky until *poof* they become stars. This fun theory was the inspiration behind this fabulous quilt that combines the perennial classics of flying gees and stars in a modern layout.

If you're looking for some inspiration, your next quilt project, or just want a great quilty read, grab Issue 69 and get stuck in!

Hello Reader!, The cold weather has arrived here in Australia and it's utterly delightful. It's seeing me spending more time digging through the stash and sewing up all sorts of pretty things. My constant furry companions (a ragdoll kitty and a sheepadoodle dog) come hang out to stay warm under the heater - and of course to offer advice on which fabrics I should choose. They aren't the most helpful but they are good company. They also love a bit of a snuggle when I'm settling in for a good...
