Hello Reader, Here in Australia, Autumn has arrived after what felt like a long hot summer. I'm an indoor cat, so this cooler weather is suiting me perfectly. Not to mention the overcast and sometimes drizzly days are ideal for settling in for a bit of sewing. Though to be fair, every day is an ideal day for a bit of sewing! If you're feeling that itch to stitch, your next project could very well be waiting in the pages of our newest issue. If you haven't checked out Issue 70 yet, here's a lil look at what's in store! First up, we've got to talk about this huge pop of rainbow goodness that's gracing the cover! Corinne Sovey, clever maker and rainbow lover, designed our cover quilt for a big impact. Rainbows never go out of style, and this colour scheme is the perfect way to showcase any striped design. If you love bright colours and maximalist decor, this is the perfect quilt for you. No dreary days here with all this bright colour and cheerful pattern designs! If you, like me, can't get enough rainbow, here are another two beautiful rainbow quilts! Xplode (below left) by Cheri Termini is a bright and bold quilt that looks complex but it's really a simple block created using basic units and traditional piecing techniques. The magic happens the blocks are oriented to create Xs and Os, and the bright rainbow prints contrast beautifully with the crisp white background. Jelly Rock (below right) is designed by Rachel J. Langford. The design was inspired by the bright and tasty rock candy that Rachel enjoyed as a child. This is a fun quilt - and a quick make! It pairs a rainbow jelly roll with white background fabric. Now let's look at another two bright and bold quilt designs! Not rainbow colourways, but beautiful and cheerful in these happy palettes! Jinx (below left) is from Irish quilter Rita Geyermann. There's just so much about this quilt to delight the modern quilter. Oversized blocks, a bold orange and turquoise colour scheme, solids and negative space, plus the use of nesting hexagons. What's not to love? Deco Dash (below right) is another winner designed by Jamie Siel. When Jamie designed this simple yet effective modern quilt, she was inspired by the clean lines and fresh colours of the Art Deco movement. She chose a pantograph that brought this vibe out further. The quilt is the perfect choice for anyone who prefers minimalistic design and would work well in any colour. Has one of these projects got you running to the stash cupboard to start a new project? You don't need it, but in case you like to hear it, you 100% have our permission to start a new project!
Each issue we chat to incredible makers from around the world. Issue 70 sees us talking to New Zealander Rachel J Langford and Latina quilters Lina Owen and Laura Duran. We're also sharing a whole bunch of articles, columns and features to inspire the mind as well as the quilting!

Hello Reader!, The cold weather has arrived here in Australia and it's utterly delightful. It's seeing me spending more time digging through the stash and sewing up all sorts of pretty things. My constant furry companions (a ragdoll kitty and a sheepadoodle dog) come hang out to stay warm under the heater - and of course to offer advice on which fabrics I should choose. They aren't the most helpful but they are good company. They also love a bit of a snuggle when I'm settling in for a good...
